So this is a brand new single out artist Bruno Mars entitled “Just The Way You Are”. Which I got from YouTube “Video Central”, with YouTube around today, the importance for TV is less and therefore enabling me to check out what ever videos and music I like!. Apart from me enjoying the music, I chose this video in particular because it differentiates, to typical music videos and is more articulate, creative and overall visually attractive, then others I have seen.
Being a music video director myself in my spare time, the codes and conventions in this video appeal to me on another level, and are a lot better than the usual multi shots all in ‘sync’ to one song. This video plays on images being made out of a reel of tape, in an “art attack” style video, speeded up to match a very soothing flow with the music, which is very entertaining to watch while you listen.
As well as the images matching the flow & rhythm of the music, the video in my eyes matches the conventional stereotypical codes to meet a target audience of females, by the way in which the final video is presented.so this is my blog, for out Trends & Visual thinking class, and will be updating this every week..
